Imagine a day without traffic laws in kenya?

Yesterday as i watched news in K24  i watched something that shocked me.Here it is.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyzYZQ7m7iI.A driver along thika road was stopped by a police cop and what culminated is what shocked me.The driver assulted the traffic officer even going to look for stones to hit him with.I must admit that the police force in the country is in a big sham the reason why major reforms are being undertaken. Most people in this country see policemen as enemies as witnessed in the video. There is not even a single person who came to the aid of the policeman. But,imagine one day without traffic police on the roads?Carjackers would have a field day not to mention the scenes we experience on the roads of matatus overlapping, using the wrong lanes and even obstructing the roads.Imagine the traffic snarl ups that we would experience as a result.People would be late for work, kids would be late for school, appointments, job interviews and how many patients would die in ambulances due to obstruction by nasty drivers.Imagine the effect it would have on our economy?Even though the police force in this country is not the best, there is no justification for any single person to assault a law enforcement officer. It is a criminal offense and i think that guy should be locked forever. The institution that the policeman represents should be respected and the more reason why immediately the policeman lifts his hand signaling you to stop, you stop first ask questions later. Many kenyans do not respect the law and when cornered they cry wolf. Why do people give bribe to the traffic policemen?90% of the time is because they have done something wrong. If the vehicle is good condition and you have followed the rules to the point,i doubt if the officer would be quick to ask for a bribe, though we must admit that sometimes they cook up mistakes just so they may take a bribe.Lets be people who follow rules and when we make mistakes we are quick to admit and pay for them.Otherwise,if now start assaulting policemen this country will turn chaotic. The bible even puts it clearly, respect the authority here on earth that i have put in place.

Have a lawful day!
